This beautiful log cabin was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary! The cabin was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and offered every amenity you could think of. The location was wooded, private and close to Lake Placid and many hiking trails. It was such a treat eating dinner every night on the lower deck so that we could enjoy the lovely mountain view while listening to the peaceful sounds of the river. We also had the pleasure of meeting Johnathan and seeing his spectacular Wilderness Photography! Staying at the Wilmington Range Chalet was a dream come true!
it was worth the wait from 2024, and such perfect weather and the beginning of fall color that you were blessed with. It was wonderful having you!
My wife, 2 young daughters and I spent a few days at the cabin and absolutely loved it. The cabin itself is beautiful with a very warm, cozy feel. The location is very nice - tucked back from the road a bit and away from the neighboring homes. The back of the home overlooks a picturesque mountain view, which we enjoyed from the deck and balcony. We attended a wedding at Whiteface while we were here, which was just minutes from the cabin. Lake Placid was only a short, scenic drive away as well. Overall it was a great getaway and we're already brainstorming when we'll be able to come back next. 09/04/2019 at 1:40 AM
Beautiful property in perfect location! We started every morning with a hike and didn't even come close to experiencing the many, many wonderful trails in the area. Some of our other highlights were the trip up Whiteface Mountain, the Wildlife Refuge, High Gorge Falls, and the village of Lake Placid (Olympic Museum, shops, and restaurants). Highly recommend The Cottage for lunch on Mirror Lake and R.F. McDougal's for delicious food in an unbeatable setting. After a day spent outdoors, this charming log cabin welcomed us home. At night, we enjoyed turning out all the lights and marvelling at the stars we are not able to see in our section of suburbia. Absolutely stunning! Our puggle, Chloe, loved sitting under the outside tables at ADK Pizza and we appreciated how dog-friendly most of the establishments were. As a bonus, my husband caught a good sized trout on his first cast into the river at the bottom of the stairs! One of our best vacations ever!! 08/25/2019 at 11:54 PM
We had a great time at the cabin. The location is perfect. It's outside the hustle of Lake Placid but only 10 minutes away. The view from the porch is breathtaking and listening to the running river is very peaceful. Johnathan made us feel right at home. We were very pleased with every aspect of the property. 08/19/2019 at 9:47 PM

This cabin is beautiful and comfortable, and this is the second time we've stayed there. The location is perfect, private yet close to the trails, the river and and Lake Placid. Our dog loved every minute of the trip, he hiked with us and loved playing ball on the property. The cabin has every amenity you could need, we cooked in the entire stay so that we could enjoy our hikes and just relax afterward. We recommend it , and thank you for sharing your place! 08/03/2019 at 7:56 PM
We really enjoyed our stay in this pristine cabin with the amazing view! Super clean and stocked home. Would definitely return if ever in the area again!
We stayed in this amazing cabin over the July 4th weekend. The heat of the day cooled down over night, and we found that keeping the windows open over night keeps the house comfortable during the day. The house was beautifully designed and kept very clean! The views off the back porch, and especially the balcony above, were spectacular! The house was fully stocked with cooking tools, ingredients, and even laundry detergent! We enjoyed the Wilmington Town Beach, which was only a 4 minute drive from the cabin, where we used the canoe. We also took a drive up to Whiteface Mt. and took the elevator to the summit, which was a highlight during this weekend. Overall, my husband, my in-laws, my two young sons, and I all enjoyed our stay, and would happily return. 07/12/2019 at 4:15 AM
I learned about this Adirondack cabin rental while I was corresponding with Jonathan after I inquired about purchasing a few of his stunning Adirondack landscape photographs. One of them I had framed and hung up in my home office and it provides me a sense of peace and motivation each day. I've been coming to the Adirondacks for 30 years and one of my favorite memories was vacationing in a log cabin on the East Ausable River with my grandparents. For decades, I've longed to re-experience a log cabin getaway in the Adirondacks. After several years of camping and staying in hotels with my wife in the Adirondacks, I decided to treat her to a week long getaway at this highly rated log cabin in Wilmington overlooking the West Ausable River and looking out toward the serene Wilmington Range. Simply put, Jonathan's property exceeded our expectations. The views were stunning. The sound of the river was peaceful and soothing; never once having to raise our voices to hold a conversation on the balconies. I was impressed by the depth of the river's water compared to what I'm used to on the East Ausable during mid-summer. As for the cabin, I loved the quality of the construction, brightness of the interior wood color, calm lightning, use of exterior space with balconies that offered outstanding views, and incorporation of numerous windows for great ventilation and a cool night's rest. The cabin was very clean, had modern appliances, a nice gas barbecue grill, and free access to streaming movies via programs such as Netflix. When you're not in the mood to read, access to a good movie is a luxury while vacationing in the mountains. A strong WiFi signal provided came in handy while researching hikes or local dining options. The cabin is a short drive to some excellent options. This past week at Jonathan's log cabin was so peaceful and relaxing, it has reaffirmed my wife and I's desire to have a home of our own in the Adirondacks. This stay enabled us to reconnect with nature, easily access outdoor recreation, and return "home" to a peaceful environment. Anyone looking to slow down, escape work, and recalibrate themselves should find this lovely cabin to be an exceptional destination in the Adirondack Park. Treat it with care. It's a very special property. 07/13/2019 at 10:22 PM
